Our Board
The Board (Accounting Authority) is the highest decision-making structure of the SETA, and its members are appointed by the Minister of Higher Education, Training, and Science and Innovation every five (5) years. It is vital for leading and applying corporate governance principles. The Board is responsible for directing and administering the SETA’s affairs in a transparent, fair, and responsible manner. It is fully accountable for the SETA’s performance. The Board has established four committees with delegated duties to support it in carrying out the oversight role of ensuring that the organisation’s activities are managed consistently with the SETA’s ethical leadership and values. The roles and responsibilities of the Board and each Sub-Committee are set out in the SETA’s Constitution and Delegation of Authority Policy.
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS TO SERVE IN THE ACCOUNTING AUTHORITY (BOARD) OF THE FOOD AND BEVERAGES MANUFACTURING SETA (FOODBEV SETA).
In terms of section 11 (2) (a)-(b) of the Skills Development Act (Act 26 of 2011) thenMinister must appoint 14 persons as members of the Accounting Authority (Board) of the SETA. The Food and Beverages Manufacturing SETA (FoodBev SETA), on behalf of Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr NP Nkabane, hereby invites nomination for applications from suitably qualified persons to serve as members of the Accounting Authority for the term 01 April 2025 to 31 March 2030. Nominations are invited from relevant organised labour, organised employers, professional association (recognised in the food and beverages manufacturing sector) and community or small business organisation with an identifiable interest in skills development in the FoodBev sector
Composition of the Board
The Board consists of 15 members, including the Chairperson, and is constituted as follows:
a) Independent Chairperson – one (1) appointed by the Minister
b) Levy Paying Employers / Organised Employer – six (6) representatives
c) Representative Trade Unions / Organised Labour – six (6) representatives
d) Small Business or Community Organisations – two (2) representatives
